We started Trelush because we thought a wooden planter should simply last — and arrive ready to plant.

Every planter we make is built by hand in our Kent workshop from solid timber, constructed so water drains away from the joints instead of pooling and rotting them, and finished so it can stand out in a British winter. There’s no plastic liner leaching into the soil, so they’re genuinely safe to grow herbs, salad and veg in. And every one turns up fully assembled — no tools, no instructions, no weekend lost to a screwdriver.

Are wooden planters a good idea?

Yes — a good one gives roots more soil and better insulation than a plastic pot, looks warmer in a garden, and lasts for years. The only real weakness of wood is rot, which is exactly what ours are built to resist.

Which wooden planter should I choose?

Pick by shape and space: a trough for a long, narrow run; a raised bed for depth and growing; and any of our planters if you’re specifically growing food. All come in 2ft, 3ft and 4ft.

Do your wooden planters rot?

They’re built and finished to drain and shed water — the base is where cheap planters fail — and backed by a 2-year warranty.

Do they arrive assembled?
