Frequently Asked Questions.
Got questions? We've got answers — and if we missed yours, just drop us a line.
Yes — every planter is treated with our own Timbac formula, which is animal-safe and edible-safe with no chemical leach into the soil. We don't use tanalised timber. Tomatoes, herbs, leafy greens, and root veg are all safe to grow.
Several years and beyond with normal British weather and basic care. Every planter is treated against rot and built from solid Northern European softwood — slow-grown and dense. We back this with a 2-year full guarantee covering both rot and manufacturing defects, with no exclusions.
Yes — the planters in this range arrive fully assembled and ready to plant. Open the box, fill with soil, and start planting the same afternoon. No tools, no instructions, no flat-pack panels.
Solid Northern European softwood — slow-grown, dense, and chosen for outdoor durability. The boards are thick and weighty, not the thin panels you'll find on flat-pack alternatives. You'll feel the difference the moment you lift one.
Our slatted range arrives with an internal plastic liner on the long sides. The solid-panelled range doesn't need a liner at all. You can add an extra membrane at the base if you'd like to extend the timber's life, but it isn't required for the planter to perform.
Order before 12 noon and we dispatch the same day from our Kent workshop. UK delivery typically takes 2–3 working days from dispatch. A Monday-morning order generally arrives by Wednesday or Thursday.
Both anti-rot AND manufacturing defects, with no exclusions. If your planter fails for either reason within two years, we'll replace it. We stand behind every planter we make in Kent.
Yes — every planter is built from solid timber boards, not thin panels, and assembled by hand to carry weight. Choose a model with the depth your roots need (dimensions are listed on each product page). There's plenty of room for shrubs, perennials, and small ornamental trees.
Yes — we offer 90-day free returns on everything, including the larger planters. There's no postage to pay back. Just contact us within 90 days and we'll arrange collection.
In our own workshop in Kent. Every planter is hand-built by people, not machines, using solid Northern European softwood. We're a family business — founded in 1982 with a wooden planter, and back to building them today as part of the Made in Britain campaign.
